Keeping an Eye on Irene...

Morning and Happy Friday to everyone!!!





Well the water cooler talk today at work is ALL about Irene and whats gonna happen. Who knows, im hoping for the best. But will get a few things at the grocery store this evening!!!

Last night was my 3rd session with Darius. And this go around he worked out with me or rather I worked out with him. I tried my best to keep up with him! I did pretty darn good not hurting today which is nice cuz yesterday i was really hurting!!!

I was going to take tonight off from the gym. But seeing as though things might get a little crazy this weekend. Im gonna cardio it up after work and then head home!

I hope everyone in the path of Irene is safe! and hope you ride her out ok!

Went out last night after gym and had a great time. Saw a lot of people I knew, which was refreshing. I do love where I live. Astoria has quickly become a home for me! and I have made amd met some great friends here in this little town!!! Love it!

Nothing tastes as good as Skinny feels!!!

Happy Thursday to everyone!

And here we are with 97 days to go!


Im the first to admit that today im just EXHAUSTED...but Im gonna keep going!!! I gotta!!! Tomorrow is my off day so I have that to look forward too! hahaha! Today is my 3rd training session with Darius, I wonder what we will do. Im thinking Biceps and Triceps and Shoulders. We havent done those yet...

I hope I can salvage enough energy to get through tonights workout. Then im supposed to go to MIX after for a friends bday! Definitely not staying long, but Im going cuz I havent seen this guy in a while and I miss him in my life!

Yesterday was a whole lot of cardio at the gym. 6 miles on the elliptical and a 45 min cardio kickboxing class!!!

Saturday is my cheat meal. Having mexican! I cant wait!!!!!!!!!!

Waiting to see what Irene is gonna want to do! Id be ok with it not hitting NYC at all...but only time will see!

This 2nd day rule...NOT A FAN!!!

Hello all! Then there were 98 days left...



Well yesterday I survived my first "earthquake" ha! More like a little tremor but still. For never have witnessed one it was definitely an experience. I was sitting at work and I just felt myself slightly rocking and I got a little light headed. I felt like I was going to either pass out or get sick. Such a bazarre feeling!

After all that craziness I headed to the gym after work. I did an hour on the elliptical. 4.7 Miles and 860 caolories burned...Then Im guessing that on Thrusday Darius and I will be doing Bis, Tris and Shoulders so I thought Id do my own workout just to prep myself for Thursday ha!!! It went eh pretty good. Im sure thursday will be more intense!

Then I came home to go to Mix for some Karaoke with Marwan, Michael, Luis, Orlando and another Michael ha! It was fun, kinda bummed that my girl wasnt DJing but I got over it! The water at MIX is delicious by the way! ha! Sang a couple of songs then headed for home. By the time I got home i was STARVING!!! uggg this is when it gets hard to be good! ha! But I fought temptation pretty hard last night and I won!!! No chinese food for me!!!

This morning Im hurting slightly more from my work out from Monday...This whole your body hurts more the 2nd day after working out than the 1st is such a crazy rule but its SOOOO TRUE!!! Tonight is Cardio Kickboxing with Julio and I think im gonna skip out on total body conditioning. I wanna be able to move tomorrow with Darius. So I think im just gonna do some more cardio by myself after the Kickboxing!!!

99 bottles of beer on the wall...

And then there were 99 days left...


So I had myself and enjoyable 3 day weekend. Where I spent a majority of it by myself and it was AMAZING!!!

Friday NYC got a very intense thunderstorm, which being from Texas im used to them but up here people arent. It was so cute seeing everyone so fascinated by the thunder and lightening ha!

Saturday I did go Kayaking in the Hudson River with my friend Carlos so that was cool and new and FREE!!! Hope to do it again on Saturday!

Sunday I stayed in all day and finally got my butt up and went to the gym for 2 hours of cardio!

Monday it was GORGEOUS out so I went to a local cafe near home and sat outside and had lunch by myself and read my book. SOOOO relaxing! Just what I needed. Then I headed into the city to meet with my trainer for another session. This session was focused on Chest and Back. It was a good work out. Definitely have a long way to go but you gotta start somewhere right? After our session I stayed and burned some more calories on the Elliptical for an hour. Ha when I finished my hour on the Elliptical I ran into Darius and he was like "You're still here"...Hey...Go big or Go home right?? This fat on me isnt just gonna go away on its own thats for damn sure. If it were my ass would be in bed hahaha!!!

Well My commute home is sorta annoying but nothing crazy. Just have to take the A or D train downtown to transfer to the N/Q. Its about 40 min of commuting. Well as I was leaving the gym it was like a sign from God...i see the M60 bus which goes to LGA airport, which is 5 min from my house, and I know that bus stops 3 blocks from my apartment....My prayers were answered...So i got on the bus and what would have been a 40 min commute quickly turned into just a 20 min commute!!! Totally made my night!

Once I got off the bus I went to the grocery and got some food. Went home and cooked food for my lunches for the week and then i even did the dishes!!! After that I was done!!!

Im not crazy sore today...but i def feel it...Contemplating my gym tonight and what I wanna do!!! Should be fun!

And so it begins...

Alright Kids...This week up till now has been me prepping for what is to come. Now today officially starts my journey!!!


100 Days of tryng my very best to stay on track. With the help of friends and family I know I will be successful this go around. Also with the help on my trainer Darius I will be staying on track!

Before starting working out I weighed around 254ish...Currently im 248ish its definitely a small step in the right direction!

Working out with Darius around 430 today!!! Should be good times!

I cant BREATHE!!!!!!

Good morning and HAPPY FRIDAY to everyone!!!

So Havent blogged in a couple days so lets to a little catch up...

Wednesday I was SUPPOSED to work out with Darius but that fool flaked and cancelled on me...Ha! Nah it was like an open house at NYSC on Wednesday and anyone could have come in and worked out so it just was gonna be to crazy so I was fine with him cancelling ;-). So instead I went to the gym with my friend Julio where we took a Cardio Kickboxing class and a total body conditioning class...and all I can say is the little black girl with crazy hair who taught the classes has too much damn energy! Ha it was intense but I stuck it out for as well as I could!

It frustrated me with what I couldnt do in the second class that I know I could do like 6 months to a year ago...beat myself down a little on that but no use in staying down, i tried my best thats all I could do!

Thursday was my first session with Darius. I was nervous for a couple reasons. 1. I was incredibly sore and exhausted from gyming the past 3 days 2. Ive never had a personal trainer so definitely didnt know what to expect. So I show up about 20 min early for my session so i can just STRETCH STRETCH STRECH!!! Which was good finally muscles were warming up. Well the 1 hour session was broke up into half cardio and half weights. The cardio I will say was intense. I mean im just used to a treadmill and elliptical so it was refreshing and challenging to do different things. After the cardio part i just couldnt catch my breath and i felt like i was gonna throw up hahahaha...it was rough but I wasnt complaining...I signed up for this and I want him to push me to my limits! Then we did weights...all geared to the back, which as im sitting here...i feel it! hahaha

So my first Personal Training session was definitely a success. I even told Darius about my blog and gonna get him involved as well. Im going to be putting up a poll soon for my readers to vote on as to what new thing i should do for the week. If you have any suggestions leave a comment!!! I want this experience to be as interactive as possible!!!

This week has been my pre I used to be fat week. My 100 days officially starts on Monday when I meet for my second session!

Today is my off day from the gym. This weekend I have ABSOLUTELY nothing planned which im incredibly excited for!!! Plus the weather doesnt look too great for the weekend. so thats perfect!!!

America's Next Top Gay Chef!!!

Good morning and happy tuesday to whom ever may be reading this post!

Last night was a productive night for me. During the day I decided that I wanted to cook dinner, and I came up with the idea of making stuffed bell peppers. Growing up that was a staple in our house, granted I remember never wanting the bell pepper, just the stuffing! with some of mom's cornbread...yum!!!!

Ok i digress haha...Well when I cook i hate cooking just for me, so the roommate usually partakes in my cooking. Well I messaged him online but never got a response. So I texted his lady friend whom I adore!!! too see if she were coming over last night and to see if she would be hungry. So between her and I we planned it all out!

I rushed home after work, I grocery shopped for dinner. Went home dropped off the groceries and headed to what will become my second home...my gym! I get there in time to take a Zumba class...and you know me and dancing. and salsa dancing...I love me some Zumba! Then after the 1 hour of zumba I did 30 min both on the Treadmill and Elliptical!!!! Gah I was dead but felt amazing!

Then I came home and made dinner for Myself, Raul and Christy!!! And for my first time at attempting stuffed bell peppers i was quite impressed!!! and you know me always taking pics of my creations...


Raul and Christy both cleaned their plates so thats def a good sign!!!

After that I crashed!!! but randomly woke up at 230 am and was up for an hour or so...smh...

Today's agenda...Work..then GYM!!! Then meeting a friend for some green tea!!! No more happy hours for me!!!
